Tribute To The Most Compelling Type Of Storytelling

In the midst of writing my first short story, "Enlightenment Lake", I deemed it appropriate it to share a short music video with you all that I made just this past weekend. I recently completed Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, and what an experience it was. It played more like an Oscar award winning film as compared to the normal gameplay people might expect from modern video games. The game is incredibly story-driven, with an intricate plot told through four games which were released in a span of a decade. These are the types of stories that I strive to create, not in regards to length, but in effectiveness. The experience has been very influential and partly inspired me to start this blog to begin with. I felt practically obligated to express my appreciation through some sort of creative outlet. This was the result. I hope you all enjoy.

MGS4 was a good game, but it did seem to forget that it was in fact a game every now and again.

Not that I don't think it's a good game; I just prefer a game that I can play in bits and pieces before work and such, not a game where I've got to book a day off.

One of my best friends love MGS series, wonder why he hasn't got a copy of MGS4 maybe it would be a nice birthday gift.

That's a major issue that most people did find with the game that I can easily understand. Heavy Rain is a similar title in the sense of it being more like an "interactive movie" than what we've come to understand is a game.

Video games have come so far since the 1970's. I think the fact that there are so many directions one can go with them now is a beautiful fact that nods to the evolution of the entire industry. I doubt I'll ever stop loving games :)

@Lendo, If he's a fan of the previous games, it's highly unlikely he'll be anything but blown away by this entry in the series. It wouldn't be a bad gift at all :)

Nice video-- you can be sure it was good because it definitely made me want to play the game. Unfortunately, all I have is an outdated PC and original Xbox. =)
